Website: http://backhome.com.my/

In Kuala Lumpur we wanted to collaborate with a Hostel, but not with any hostel … with the BackHoma Backpackers Hostel !!!! What a luxury place!

It is located in the area of Masjid Jamek, next to one of the most emblematic places of the city, the Masjid Jamek mosque and the river where Kuala Lumpur is born. It is also located next to the Chinatown for more enjoyment, and a 10-15 minute walk from Bukit Bintang and KLCC. You also have the Masjid Jamek metro station right there.

The hostel is beautiful, everything new, original and great modern style. Inside you have a patio where you can sit down for breakfast, read, think or work, with a tree that crosses the place … It is really a well thought out place … There are several washbasins, perfectly designed and very modern! It has a movie theater where you can see the movie you want on a big screen, with air conditioning and super comfortable sofas! a great idea!

Our room was fantastic, it did not lack anything, air conditioning, kettel to heat water, television, and sloping roof attic, a large window overlooking the patio … The big and super comfortable bed … The truth is called hostel but it is a pass of place where without hesitation we would have a good season. The cleaning was perfect, they have a team that is in charge at all times to keep the perfect place.

Ah! and breakfast is included !!! You have cereals, toast and jams, tea, coffee … Also, in the same hostel there is a cafe where you can buy something more elaborate.

As we have already said, a great place where we would have a good season !!!! Congratulations for the excellent work BackHome Backpackers !!!

The atmosphere is young and fun, the staff that takes it are all young, from various parts of the world, who are there living and working. In the evening there are tours of street food and tourist visits, to go in a group, in a great atmosphere.

At the entrance there are sofas, table tennis, board games, and place to work, enjoy a good conversation … Whatever you want!

The rooms are correct, large, full of bunk beds, in a distribution that allows a minimum intimacy, with air conditioning and comfortable mattresses. The sinks are correct, with hot water to enjoy the shower.

And at night you can join the group to enjoy the company with some beers to share moments and learn a little more about the trips of others …

Pokhara, a beautiful city at the foot of the Anapurna

From Kathmandu we took a bus to Pokhara. We went by local bus to the station of Gongabu, in the north of the city, and there we took a bus where we would be the next 12 hours … The trips in Nepal are very long … Luckily we are prepared, and We had a good time watching movies with the laptop.

We arrived at the Pokhara bus station in the afternoon, we were exhausted, even so, we walked towards the area of more density of hotels and guests house. We had read about the Sunflower Hotel, very correct and at a good price, so we went there. We toured all the streets that could take us to that area, but impossible … thanks to the precious information of a friendly local gentleman made us smile again … and we reached our destination!

Correct room, clean and friendly people, for 6 dollars a night … great! The next day, we got up and went straight to breakfast, before Mayra unleashed all her fasting morning fury …

Pokhara is located at the foot of several incredibly high mountains, and the most outstanding ones, the Anapurnas … 4 mountains of more than 8000 and 7000 meters … a whole show.

From there the trekkings begin to the base camps of the different Anapurnas. The city is also bounded by the Phewa lake, very beautiful. Inside the lake you can see the Lake Temple. In the same lake, rent boats for a walk for a couple of dollars.

The street parallel to the lake is the busiest, full of clothing stores, crafts, hotels and coffee shops. It is nice to walk through this area, although it is very little local.

There we did some volunteering. For example in the nursery of the Butterfly Foundation, where we could play with very cute children (see post).

We also went to do workshops in a school located in a Tibetan refugee camp (see post), in the northern part of the city, about 20 kilometers away.

The Tibetan villages were certainly different, the faces of their people already showed different features. The two experiences were very beautiful, to keep them in the memory.

We had the opportunity to perform in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery school. It was full of little and young monks, all Tibetans, with their reddish attire, with mischievous faces and curious about our presence. You can find the comments of the performance in the following link. It was quite an experience … really different … (see post)

And from there, we went to the border with India, our time in Nepal came to an end, a pity …

We took a local bus at 9 am to the Indian border, and arrived in the evening. The journey was not easy, and it was still going to be longer until the next stop, Varanasi, this time through Indian lands … The adventure continues!

And we arrived in Malaysia !! We arrived at dawn, at 3 am, very early, the day was going to be long … We headed to the city center with the first train of the day, at 5:30 in the morning, which took us in a moment to KL Sentral. There we took a monorail to Bukit Bintang, where our next lodging awaited us.

It is a hotel in the center of Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang, what we call Piccadilly Circus or Central Square of Kuala Lumpur. The place is impressive, full of skyscrapers, shopping centers, life everywhere! We loved it!!! And there was the Chaos Hotel, a design hotel, beautiful, right in the center. It is 10 minutes walk from KLCC or less by subway.

At the reception there is a perfect space to read and review the route of the day, with a Mac computer to consult anything. The Wifi connection works perfectly. It is a perfect hotel to enjoy the city and its center.

The room was beautiful, very well decorated, modern and original, like the city … The big and comfortable bed, with air conditioning, television and a perfect bathroom. The truth is that it was a delight to be able to rest comfortably after a long trip, and prepare for the city of Kuala Lumpur. The excellent cleaning, everything great !!!

The hotel staff helped us in everything they could and more !! super friendly and nice …

After spending two nights at the Chaos Hotel we said goodbye grateful of how good we had been in it … we will be back.

Kochi is a must-see city in India, the streets are filled with tourism and the city is full of hotels. We find the Treebo Bright Heritage Kochi, a 3 star colonial-style hotel located in the center of the city of Kochi, 3 minutes walk from the famous Chinese networks.

We loved this hotel from the first moment we entered, its wooden style, with a rustic point. The staff was super friendly and helped us all we needed.

They assigned us the most luxurious and spacious hotel room !! with a table and chairs as a small room. The bed was very big and with a canopy, worthy of a princess, Mayra was crazy in her princess bed, and I loved it too!

The mattress was great, super comfortable … The air conditioning delighted our moments of rest after the walks through the city. And the wifi worked perfectly, great, no problems.

The bathroom was very nice, it had decoration details that made it different. The shower with hot water of course.

Breakfast was served on the top floor where there was a small restaurant with a bar. It consists of a free buffet of Indian food. We liked everything and it was perfect to start the days of hiking to discover the corners of the area.

Davis Grand Hotel (Pondicherry, India)

Website: http://www.devisgrand.com/

When arriving at Pondicherry we looked for a comfortable hotel and that it did not shoot us the budget. We found the Davis Grand Hotel. It is a hotel very well suited for our purpose. It is close to the train station, 10 minutes walk from the center or the most visited area.

The hotel is well equipped, clean and tidy. In Pondicherry you can find much better hotels, colonial style, but that is also reflected in the price. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful, helping us in any need we had.

The room was very correct, clean and the bed was large and super comfortable. We also enjoy the air conditioning to avoid the heat from the outside. Availability of television to relax a bit with international news. The sink was spacious and with hot water, great. The wifi for our enjoyment worked perfectly. So it was a perfect accommodation to enjoy our visit to Pondicherry.

The breakfast was delivered to the room, typical Indian breakfast very rich !! Perfect to start the day with desire!

On the top floor there is a sports bar, perfect place to have a drink and enjoy a game of pool, table football or your favorite game !! It also has a terrace with views of the city, a place to let the fatigue of the day take the wind …

Spring Hotel & Spa (Bangalore, India)

Website: http://www.springshotels.co/

We arrived in Bangalore, and like all Indian cities it was a chaos of traffic and people. However this time we had an ace up our sleeve, we were going to stay at the Spring Hotel & Spa. A 4 star hotel of the most luxurious!

The lobby is all white, with minimalist decor, business people up and down. We waited in the sofas of the entrance to be assigned a room, the wait lasted less than we wanted, we were already busted from the trip and the sofa was very comfortable …

The room was perfect !! clean, with a sober but perfect decoration. The bed was great, the 30 cm high mattress was firm but soft, it was the most comfortable bed since we had embarked on this long trip … a pleasure !!!

The room was equipped with television and even a fridge. The sink had a large shower, like a small room, and of course hot water.

So it was to arrive, leave the luggage in a corner, turn on the air conditioning and shower, we were in paradise !!!! The wifi worked perfect !! And all the hotel staff was exquisite.

But this did not end here, the hotel, how its name says it has a spa !! We did not try any of the spa products, but we did bathe in the pool !! A great little outdoor pool !! surrounded by hammocks to stretch and relax …

The Hotel Spring Hotel & Spa has a large dining room, and there we enjoyed most of our meals, especially breakfast, with free buffet service, with all kinds of food, North Indian, South Indian, Western, even has a small place where a man makes your eggs to your liking !!! Do not forget to try the cheese omelet … exquisite …

Well, the hotel is also business oriented, that’s why it has a convention room. And on the top floor has a designer bar ideal for a drink at the end of the day.

And here we stopped this description, but not because of desire but because of lack of space, because in this hotel we had the rest we needed, it was a great battery charger … Spring Hotel & Spa, we will be back !!!!

Blue Moon Hotel (Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka)

At the Blue Moon Hotel we only stayed one night, but we stayed to enjoy this accommodation. Nuwara Eliya is located at 1800 meters of altitude! So when we went it was raining and it was cold. Despite this, the place is beautiful !!!

But of course, with the right accommodation … Blue Moon Hotel is a 3 star hotel, a beautiful Spanish colonial style house, it is made of wood and is very comfortable. It is located near the center of town and the bus station.

The room was very cozy, the large bed with a mattress and color combinations, typical of the region. The sink was very well equipped, and this time very important, with hot water. It has wifi and breakfast available.

The family of the hotel was super friendly and friendly, made us feel at home. It was certainly a good experience and good accommodation in our visit to Nuwara Eliya, we recommend it !!

And we arrived in Negombo !!! finally a beach place to relax and enjoy the contemplative life. And for this we booked at Topaz Beach Hotel, a 2 star hotel on Negombo beach, in the middle of the whole tourist area, surrounded by restaurants and everything we need.

Just entering the lobby we could not stop seeing something that we would not have noticed … it’s a hotel with a pool !!! Happiness happiness !!!!

They gave us a room on the third floor. The hotel inside is well maintained and clean. The assistance is continuous, the staff is super attentive and helps us to be super comfortable.

The room was spacious and beautiful, with wooden details. The bed was large and comfortable, facing the large window of the room. We had a fan, but it was more than enough for the temperature of the place.

The wifi arrives in the room without problems. Going out to the balcony, the sea was left on the left side, so we sat in a chair on the terrace overlooking the sea in silence … what a pleasure! The sink was very well equipped, with hot water.

And the next day in the morning, we went for a walk on the beach and then … to the pool !!! stretched out in the hammock … from siesta to siesta, drooling in taste, swimming, and drooling again … what a pleasure … this is life !!!

So this hotel offered us what we wanted, rest, comfort and enjoy our trip … Recommended !!!
