GKM Grand Hotel and Guru Hotel (Port Blair, Andaman Islands, India)

Website: http://www.gkmgrand.com/

The Andaman Islands belong to India but are closer to Thailand or Myanmar. The capital of the islands is Port Blair, and that’s where all the arrival flights to the island land.

In Port Blair we stayed 3 nights and we stayed GKM Grand Hotel, a 3 star hotel finished building. Everything is new and it shows in every corner of the hotel. Also the staff is super dedicated and they have everything under control down to the smallest detail. But the merit belongs to the owner, Guru Soumi, who is always there ensuring that everything is perfect.

They assigned us a room with a living room, television, and, of course, a big bed !! With the air conditioning we were able to rest from the heat, while we watched the international channels, until we discovered that we could connect USB on television to watch our movies!

The toilete was perfect, shower with hot water … yes, we know, but no matter how hot it is, we still like hot showers …

In the Andaman Islands the quality of the internet connection is quite bad, in this hotel we find the best connection quality of our entire stay in these islands.

We had breakfast at the restaurant, based on typical Indian dishes and an omelette, all very good! But the best was dinner, we had it included !!!! We asked the room service to bring it to the room, Indian curries with fish, prawns … everything was delicious! We all ate it in our little room while watching a movie on TV … a perfect way to end a day of sightseeing …

In addition, the owner of the hotel gave us a touristic route with his car through the most emblematic and touristic places of Port Blair, a detail! Thank you!!!

So our arrival in the Andaman Islands could not be better, with a good rest after long walks and visits to the touristic places in the area.

The hotel is a family business, and also has another hotel, Guru Hotel, this hotel is the same as the GKM but it has a few more years, although that is not reflected in a reduction in quality. This one is taken by Karan, the son of Guru, and he insisted that we visit this second hotel. As expert enchanted travelers we take a look to verify that it maintains the same quality as the newborn hotel, comfort, comfort and quality.

Shangri Las Resort (Havelock Island, Andaman Islands, India)

Website: http://havelockshangrilas.com/

This small complex on beach number 4 is in the busiest and most touristic area of the island. We arrived by bus from the port where we left the ferry, so everything was quite easy. It is a simple little complex. The entrance overlooks an open, simple but well-conditioned restaurant.

There they assigned us our bungalow, and we went there! There are about 10 bungalows that have been completely renovated in recent months. Ours was all made of wood, with a small porch at the entrance. The interior consists of a large bed, with a very comfortable mattress, an air conditioner and a television. In addition the bathroom is very well equipped.

We were there for 4 days, very comfortable !!! but the best thing is when it is located, leaving the bungalow you are on the beach 4 !!!! one of the most beautiful beaches on the island !!! In the morning the white sand and the turquoise blue water make all things disappear and start them up again, besides the palm trees lying on the sea make it even more beautiful … aaaaish … what a beautiful place .. .

The restaurant is very good, the prices are very affordable and the quality of the food is great! We ate there every day that we were hiking. There is wifi but it is paid separately for hours, but it was the lowest price in the surroundings. Ah! and they also rented us a motorbike at the best price on the island !!! But what a wonderful son!

So we had some great days at Havelock and Shangri Las made everything perfect, great rest, a lot of tranquility and good service … we will be back !!!

Coconhut Resort (Neil island, Andaman Islands, India)

Website: http://coconhuts-beachresort.com/

We arrived at the island of Neil, an island with little influx of tourism, and less at the time of year that we were … We stayed at the Coconhut Resort … what a luxury place! It is a resort on the beach, between palm trees and blue waters.

The reception is simple, a counter in an open area, however the room fell in love … It was on the second floor of the main building, it was spacious, with an area with a table and chairs, the bed was large and fabulously comfortable!!!

The decoration we loved, wooden details with a painted wall of our favorite color !! The dark turquoise color (which surely has a name … that I do not know …).

On the wall we had a TV where we put our movies with a USB, while the air conditioning tempered our heats … So it’s nice to travel … pure rest and comfort. The wifi is free but it only works in reception, but hey, in all the Andaman Islands the connection is very limited …

The toilet was great, spacious, the shower with hot water … Everything very agreeable, everything very well prepared and everything destined and focused so that we had the best time in the island of Neil.

In the center of the property there is a large cabin that is the restaurant, there we have breakfast every day, Indian food, buffet style, all very good.

We also ate some day, and we loved it, so much so that some nights we asked that the room service take us dinner to the room to rest and enjoy a movie … pure rest and pleasure … and we did so .. Without any doubt, we will return !!!!
